We meet once or twice a year, sometimes with, sometimes without the dogs. We try to arrange activities together such as walks and interesting relevant talks by prominent people.We are NOT here to make a business out of our dogs. We LOVE our dogs and want to do what we can to improve the quality of the breed here in Mauritius by offering support and a central place to keep information about all the goldens living on the island.
The Golden Retriever Club was formed officially for the following reasons:
- Improve the GOLDEN RETRIEVER breed, encourage its breeding, contribute to
its promotion and develop its use. - Establish and diffuse comments of standard for the intention of judges and
confirmation experts. - Hold a list of recommended breeders.
- Determine tests destined to contribute to improve the breed.
- Establish, organise and participate in shows, exams in conformity with the
regulating body of Mauritius. - Assume a role adviser for inscriptions in the official register book.
- Verify pedigree of suspicious nature.
- Favour relations between members, help and guide them in breeding.
- Do anything necessary to promote the GOLDEN RETRIEVER breed.
This money is used to cover costs of running the club such as membership with the FCC, administrative and event costs.
Membership runs from December to November regardless of when you join.
