We found good quality dry pellets are best for our dogs. We feed ours on Purina which is available here in Mauritius. Royal Cannine is also available and more or less the same price. You may pay slightly more for your food but you have healthy dogs, with far less vet bills(and allot less droppings!).
Always have plenty of fresh water out for your dogs.
Tip: If your dog does not eat his/her food after 15 minutes, pick it up. Don't leave the pellets lying around for them to nibble on at will. Leaving the pellets will attract rodents and other pests. Your dog will soon learn to eat his/her food at meal times.
How many times a day should I feed my golden?
I like to feed mine twice a day. My dogs are all adults (ie over 18 months). I think it is better to spread their meal over 2 rather than give it all at one time where it is possibly more difficult for them to digestit all.
